The Most Conservative Candidate

Ron Paul, the U.S. Congressman for the 14th congressional district of Texas, is likely the most conservative presidential candidate in 2012. Unlike others, he has not changed his views in his quest for the Republican nomination. Paul is has been termed the "intellectual godfather" of the Tea Party philosophy.

In the 1988 presidential election, Paul won the Libertarian Party nomination for president. In 1992, Paul endorsed Pat Buchanan for president against incumbent President George H W Bush. He also served as an adviser to the Buchanan campaign for U.S. President.

What Real Conservatives Believe

Real Conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, traditional American values, individual liberty, and a strong national defense.

A Real Conservative opposes minimum wage, equal pay for equal work, overtime pay, price controls of any kind, food safety regulations, pollution control regulations, along with Medicaid, food stamps, welfare and all other government programs that assist the needy. Unemployment and Cobra benefits must be abolished.

Social Security is an entitlement program that should be eliminated. It should be phased out over the next ten years since it's nothing more than an enormous Ponzi scheme. Until it's eliminated, Social Security benefits must be cut and the retirement age should be retroactively raised to 75.

Obamacare must be overturned. Real Conservatives support the end of Medicare and all other government administered health insurance and health delivery systems, including Veteran health services and Medicaid. Medicare and the others are socialized medicine! All these government programs should be replaced by private healthcare systems that are not regulated by government. Americans should rely solely on the free market for all of their health care needs. Insurance companies should be able to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions and for those with above average healthcare needs. Insurers must be allowed to cancel policies without providing notice to the insured.

There should be no limit on interest rates or fees charged for loans and credit cards. Laws must be further strengthened to enhance the rights of creditors. Severe penalties should be imposed on borrowers who make late payments or default on debt obligations.

Labor unions must be outlawed and all government work should be outsourced to the private sector in the U.S., along with other countries where labor costs are less. More free trade agreements are needed and counties who violate human rights should not be excluded.

Child labor laws must be abolished. If children as young as 10 years old could be put to work full time for approximately 10¢ per hour, jobs shipped overseas would return, especially those in the manufacturing sector. Real Conservatives also support the elimination of worker safety laws for both minors and adults.

No restrictions or limits should be placed on political contributions, including those from overseas companies and foreign governments. Corporations and other special interests must be able to make anonymous campaign contributions. Until they're abolished, labor organizations must be banned from making political donations.

Tort reform is needed. Additional procedural restraints must be imposed to reduce legal claims. Damage awards should be capped for private citizens. The Supreme Court must continue to kill lawsuits against the rich and powerful as it did in the Walmart gender discrimination case.

Government agencies and bureaus that should be eliminated include the FAA, FEMA, the Veterans Administration, the Federal Reserve, the United States Department of Education, the Department of Energy (DOE), the Federal Election Commission (FEC), NASA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The Department of Agriculture must remain because it successfully doles out over $20 billion annually in food subsidies, over 70 percent of which goes to the richest 10 percent of farmers. At the same time, all farm subsidies for small family farmers should end. Ethanol subsidies of more than $5 billion annually should continue even though it pushed up corn prices as much as 17 percent in 2011.

Conservatives must do everything possible to stem illegal immigration from third world nations, Mexico, Central America, South America, the Middle East, and Africa. At the same time, Real Conservatives oppose punishing employers who hire illegals. The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution must be amended to deny citizenship to those born in the U.S. to non-citizens.

National parks, the highway system, schools, hospitals, along with publicly-owned sewer, water, and electric utilities should become investor owned. The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), along with the Southeastern, Southwestern, and Western Area Power Administrations should be sold to for-profit companies.

A Real Conservative believes it's morally wrong to abort living fetuses, including those conceived from rape or incest. When pregnancy threatens the life or could cause serious and irreversible physical harm to women, it must be allowed to continue.

Real Conservatives know that climate change is a hoax and oppose cap-and-trade legislation. Federal tax credits for energy efficiency should be eliminated. There must be no limits placed on land-based and offshore drilling. All government owned land should be available for exploration and production. Companies in the energy field must be given the power of eminent domain, also called condemnation, to take private property when it benefits their interests.

The U.S. Government should sell all oil in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and discontinue future storage. Natural gas, coal, nuclear power, and oil companies must not be regulated. More nuclear power plants should be built. Safety standards and practices for existing and new energy facilities should be determined solely by power station owners.

All federal and state aid for college education must be eliminated, along with education-related tax credits and deductions. The mortgage interest deduction, which allows 35 million homeowners to write off their mortgage interest payment, must end with the exception being vacation homes. Health care tax deductions for individuals must also be abolished.

Capital gains taxes should be eliminated. Antitrust laws must be abolished. Shareholder rights should be eliminated. Real Conservatives oppose the Shareholder Protection Act. Wall Street should be freed from government oversight. Corporate taxes should be calculated on a sliding scale and corporations with annual income of $10 million or more should pay no federal income taxes.
